Entry 10

Last week I watched a documentary by Michael Moore on TV ...

I love him & his ideas ...
Brave and intellectual like Noam Chomsky , he criticizes his society as well as his government very well ...
There are really a few people who dare to critisize their society and their governors honestly ...
Anyway , his programme was about the violence in the US ...
He showed some films from the horrifying murder in a school in Atlanta which happened a few years ago ...
He interviewed people and asked them if they kept guns in their house ... most of the people did ...
When he asked people about the cause of the violence there , most of them believed it's because of the existance of guns in most of the families , and also the high violence shown in the films ...
In his programme there were also pictures of the white cops who behaved violently towards the Black People they arrested ... so I think the discrimination between Black and White still exists ...
In the end , he said that according to statistics, the highest number of people who are killed and murdered each year in the world is in Germany and they are about 165 people ...
This becomes less in other countries ...
But in the US this number is about 11.000 people each year ...

Yes, Michael Moor is a great man.But don't forget: he is also selling his movies by this policy and earns a lot of money........He's an imperialism too........Let's be a little wise, not too sensetive.Nally

Hi NalleyThanks for your commentBut I think selling movies is his job... We see a lot of people who express their ideas by publishing them in their books and selling them, so in my opinion it's not s bad job Chackavak

Chackavak-I agree that Michael Moore is a brilliant man. Was it Bowling for Columbine that you saw? He has a way of making very poignant points in a very funny, and often caustic way. His latest has been hugely popular in the US where we value our Freedom of Expression so much.
