Entry 56

" Africa: Who is to blame ? "
This is what we see these days on TV channels ...
The G8 countries actually didn't do anything ...
They even didn't pay attention to the beautiful live concerts which were held in these 8 countries in protest against the inattention of the world to what is happening in Africa ...
Except a few charities nobody cares about them ...
Everyday millions of people containing poor little children die because of hunger and the governments are just discussing whether they should forgive & ignore their debt or not !
Who is truly to blame ? I
think every single capitalist is to blame ...
The other day , while having a look at the newpaper I noticed something about Nicole Kidman : she earns between 17 to 20 million dollars from each film she acts in !

Bonjour Chackavak, If I may say so: I think you kind heart has led you astray. It is not the aim or the job of the G8 summit to alluviate the miseries of starving Africa. At least, not more than it is your duty or mine. However, the Niger has neighbours, immensely rich ones like Lybia or Nigeria. So why do these countries give no help? Furthermore, they even share the same religion. Like most of the oil exporting countries, their leaders are using their got-for-nothing wealth to frequent five stars hotels in Switzerland and France or buy expensive weapons. On the other hand, here in Europe, we have over 22 Millon jobless that need to be fed and sustained. And every penny we have, was created by hard work. There is nothing bubbling out of the soil free of charge here. Sure, in Europe, there are no starving people like in Africa, but we have millions living below the poverty line and in Eastern Europe it is sometimes nearly as bad as in some African country. And I think it is our foremost duty to care for them firsthand. Hope, you don't mind to hear this. Georg

Hi Georg Thanks a lot for your comment G8 countries - in my opinion - are instances of the whole capitalists in the world and Niger is a symbol of an oppressed country ... There are lots of other countries as well as people who have the same situation in the world ... but I think what is happening in Africa is one of the worst ...
