Entry 17

While I was studying English Literature at the university, I read lots of English masterpieces and read and studied lots of critical writings & commentaries on them...
I'm still reading and enjoying them a lot ...
Two weeks ago I started reading a different one :" Cat among the Pigeons " by " Agatha Christie " ...
I love her works and enjoy reading them a lot ...
I used to watch them on TV when they were shown ... they cause a great challenge in my mind and make me think carefully and logically ...
I enjoy this kind of thinking and finding solutions for life problems ...
I love Hercule Poirot ...
He has a great mind as well as Miss Marple does ...
Poirot's character is really interesting ... he gets great results from events which seem to be of little importance in the story...
Despite Agatha's husband betraying her and the sad life she endured, she is now the world's best known mistery writer ...

i got into trouble for saying in my shakespeare essay "juliet is an idiot for getting married after knowing romeo for three days at fourteen, that bitch deserved to die" ooooops... then i said " i'm glad romeo died because he had sex with juliet when she was 14, therefore making him a paedophile..." Ruins the story i know, but it's true dammit!!!!
Nice weblog

Dame Agatha's style may be dated but it's still so readable - course some time her denouncements do not hold water but her narrative puts the reader in a comfortable place. For someone more contemporary try Ian Rankin - he writes in the crime genre but he gives the same sense of time and place as Dickens used to.Oh an my fave Agatha Christie, Murder at the links.
