Entry 51

My brother & I were listening to a piece of music song by A-HA band ...
It was excellent & reminded us of the good times we had in Europe 2 years ago ...
My brother said, " It's summer again ... I remember the good days we had ... I wish we were there ..."
We really enjoyed ourselves when we were there and I can say that one of the best times I've had in my life has been my travels in Europe and the US with my family ...
In my next entries I'll write about them with more details ...
But what I as well as my brother agreed on was that we enjoyed ourselves a lot only because WE HAD GONE ON A TRIP ! Only because WE HAD TO COME BACK SOME TIME SOON and leave those places, and also because it has always been difficult to travel ( because of problems in getting visa , high expenses, ...)
The enjoyment that a tourist has can never be compared with that of an inhabitant living there all her life ...

Bonjour Chackavak,Your last entry about the AHA-Band really puzzled me. I tried to find out what kind of European music someone like you and your brother might appreciate (in general at home, or especially when in Europe). On the web, there is a little German AHA-Band. Unfortunately, I was unable to find out what kind of music these people are playing with their two guitars and the boy with his electronic noise-maker (aha- band.de). Amazon.de had no exemple to be heard. So, if you don't produce some details, this will remain mysterious, at least to me.

Cheers to you
Georg

Hi Georg
As I remember A-HA band is an old one who started singing about 15 years ago when I was at high school ... They were very popular then ... I think they're American ...
What reminded us of our trip was not all their songs , but only one of them which was some how like a song we heard a lot when we were there ...One the whole I appreciate old songs more than the RAP ones sung nowadays ... I believe they were more beautiful ... Thanks by the way I'll tell you more about it if my brother can help me P.S. I'd like to have your email address if it is possible

Bonjour Chackavak,Thanks for answering. Here is my email
"hausherr.georg@libertysurf.fr".Glad to hear about the AHA crew. The one I discovered was specializing on something like German country music and it is hard to imagine an Iranian falling for this. You are totally right when saying that living in Paris should be different from seeing it as a tourist. I lived there for more than ten years. Terrible. Traffic like hell, metro and RER on strike once a month, meaning you cross the city on foot to reach your job, pollution skyrocketing, water so heavily chlorinated I shaved with mineral water. Here is a joke about a tourist coming to Paris in his car. He drove in the city and happened to hit on the Arc de Triomphe Place (Place Charles de Gaulle). He entered the circular traffic and passed his holiday there as he was unable to weedle himself out this circular chaos. Cheers to you

Hi Georg
What you wrote about Paris was really interesting ... We can't imagine Paris like that! We have always been there in summer as a tourist and all we remember is beauty everywhere ,esp.in "Arc de Triomphe" and down in "Shamps_Elysee"I think what you forgot to say is the WEATHER in all parts of Europe
Thanks for your email by the way
